Elvin Fu is a senior at Cornell University majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Sustainable Energy Systems. He conducts research in the Symbiotic Engineering and Analysis Lab, where he studies sustainable mineral extraction, hydrogen generation, and life cycle assessments of clean energy technologies. He also serves as a Teaching Assistant for Thermodynamics and Dynamics, guiding students through challenging coursework and computational tools.
Elvin’s industry experience includes designing large-scale solar energy systems and developing HVAC fault detection tools as an Energy Engineer Intern with The Efficiency Network, as well as advancing sustainability initiatives at Nestlé. His technical expertise spans CAD, finite element analysis, and sustainability modeling, combined with strong project management skills.
As a mentor with Ursa Majors, Elvin is passionate about supporting students in hands-on STEM projects and helping them explore pathways at the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and innovation. He also brings a strong background in leadership and service, having volunteered with sustainability initiatives and mentored younger students through tutoring and athletics.
