Student Advisor, ajx7@cornell.edu

Amanda Xu is a junior at Cornell University majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry. Her academic interests span molecular biology, neuroscience, and therapeutic development, with a focus on protein structure, function, and disease pathways.

At Cornell, Amanda conducts research in the Crickard Lab within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, investigating mechanisms of homologous recombination and DNA repair. She has also completed research internships at Purdue University and Novo Nordisk, studying protein crystallography and RNAi-based CNS delivery systems.

Beyond research, Amanda serves as a tutor with Student Agencies, helping students strengthen their foundations in the sciences, and is actively involved in STEM outreach through programs like Encouraging Young Engineers and Scientists. Through Ursa Majors, she hopes to inspire curiosity in molecular biology and foster inclusive opportunities for future scientists.
