Student Advisor, aarnavv2@illinois.edu
Aarnav Vyas is a junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign majoring in Physics with a minor in Computer Science. His academic and research interests center on superconductivity, materials science, and plasma physics, with hands-on experience in simulation, modeling, and computational design.
Aarnav currently conducts research with the Long Research Group, where he develops finite element models for torsion oscillator experiments and studies rare earth iron garnet samples for neutron spin rotation. Previously, he worked with the Bezryadin Research Group on nanocircuit simulations and quantum measurement devices.
Beyond research, Aarnav serves as a tutor and former Engineering Learning Assistant at UIUC, where he mentors students in physics, math, and computer science. Through Ursa Majors, he hopes to inspire curiosity in physics and promote accessible, hands-on learning in the sciences.
